Carving Pumpkins the Zirker Way

After a day of fun in the pumpkin patch, we went to my parent's house to carve pumpkins. Seth was a little surprised when I told him to put the knife away that he was using to open his pumpkin and that we would be using my dad's Jigsaw for the task. Power tools are so much more fun.

What happens when Weston gets the camera. For our next photography lesson, we'll be teaching him which direction to point the camera.

Pumkin Patch

(Disclaimer: I hate pregnancy pictures of myself and have vowed not to have any taken, but I couldn't escape these ones. I look like I'm smuggling a pumpkin. Only four more weeks!!!)
For weeks we've been planning on taking Weston to an actual pumpkin patch. Well, we found a promising patch at Washington State's Organic Research Farm complete with apple cider and a hay ride. As I mentioned before, because Weston has been sick he didn't really sleep Friday night. When we did wake up on Saturday morning, I didn't think we would be able to go to the pumpkin patch and that we would be spending our day at QuickCare. So we got ready to go to QuickCare and if Weston seemed alright, we decided we would go to the patch after seeing the doctor. Well that plan lasted about two minutes. We got in the car, decided to drive to QuickCare, check out the hours and if we had time, we'd go to the Pumpkin patch first. It turned out we had time. We had so much fun picking out a pumpkin for Weston, riding the hayride, drinking cider and picking apples, that we forgot Weston was sick. After the pumpkin patch we went and saw the bears and big horned sheep at WSU. We then headed to Dairy Queen to top the day off. We finally made it to QuickCare and it turns out that Weston had or is getting two earaches and a nasty cough.

Homecoming Fireworks!!!

We had a really fun weekend these past couple of days. Weston has been super sick and has had a hard time sleeping the past couple of nights but we still managed to have some fun. Friday was the U of I's homecoming. They decided to try and bring back some old traditions this year, one of which was fireworks!!! I was so excited. They don't have fireworks in July anymore so it had been awhile since Moscow had seen a good show. Seth and I left Weston with my parents and then went to stake out a spot where my family used to watch the fireworks. I thought there would be tons of people. When we arrived in front of the University Inn, there was one car of girls waiting in the parking lot and no one on the lawn. So we set our chairs out on the lawn and waited for the show. It was totally awesome! The show only lasted for ten minutes but it was the best finale I have ever seen. Our camera battery died after a couple of shots so we didn't get any good ones, but it was still cool!

The Gate Issue

I mentioned earlier that we have a problem keeping Weston in his room during nap time and at night, so we use a gate. However, if you put the gate too high, this is what happens. It's only funny during the day.
