On Friday, Seth and I celebrated our fifth anniversary. Seriously, it's been five years! Yesterday, I went to my little cousin's bridal shower and as she described how she and her fiance met, it was fun to think back on how Seth and I met and our little story. We lived in the same apartment complex that Seth's brother and sister-in-law managed. Seth was working for his brother doing the maintenance. I noticed him because he was always singing. One night, I had had enough of trying to make eye contact with him and invited him and his friend to go get Maverick ice cream. The next day, our ward was having a luau and he wasn't so sure if he was coming. I told him he better show up wearing a grass skirt. My roommate and I spent that next day trying to find a grass skirt. He had also searched around and was able to find a grass skirt. After that, we were hooked. As we decided to get married, we knew it was right because it felt right, like we had known each other forever (cheesy I know, but it did.) I'm amazed at how much we've grown in the past five years. We can both be knot heads and are rather stubborn. But we're making it work. We had the chance to make a very quick trip to Seattle this past week, something we seem to be doing every month. While car rides are not my favorite, I do enjoy them for the simple fact that the kids are strapped in and usually asleep. It gives Seth and I a chance to catch up. Through our road trip conversations I've realized that even though life is crazy and we are poor college students right now, I am happy. Truly happy. I love our little family and who we are becoming. The Lord has always blessed us and I am excited to see what's coming our way.
